I Sort Of Love Fur? [Oct. 9th, 2005|02:56 pm]
[music |Kim Wilde - Cambodia]

In response to this post- http://www.livejournal.com/community/ohnotheydidnt/3815086.html?thread=362767022#t362767022 - it got me thinking of my feelings towards fur, fashion and PETA.

Over the summer, my parentals brought back a wolf-fur throw and a black-rabbit skin Russian-type hat. Now, as everyone loves to stroke animals, you know that they feel and look lovely. But do I see anything wrong with this? I'd say no. The makers of these Russian things weren't doing it for pretentious fashion or tacky pelts, but making useful stuff for like, Russian winters. Therefore, I see nothing really wrong with it. It's not as if my parentals went and pointed at an animal and asked it to be skinned for them to take back.

And PETA? I can;t explain but everytime I hear of their campaigns I just roll my eyes and sigh. If they weren't so annoying then maybe more people would take them serious.

I wore the sunglasses to bed last night.... [Aug. 22nd, 2005|09:17 pm]
[mood | busy]
[music |The Bangles - Hazy Shade Of Winter]

Tonight is the last night until my rentals, Nicole and Morgan go on holiday. Because I'm going to Reading instead, I'm missing out on a 12 day cruise around the Balkans :( . I haven't been on a cruise in like, forever! Wet and muddy fields will be an alternative though...

I had to do, gasp, ironing tonight! God it's a bore, and my mom was staring at me throughout it. I actually asked her 'What's a crease?'. She told me not to be so stupid.

I spent a lot of the day taking movies of Nicole and Morgan on my camera-phone, they liked it! I wonder if I could upload some onto this, maybe I'll try later.

Until we cross again,

Like Paris, Except Not So Rich and No Sex Tape... [Aug. 21st, 2005|01:26 am]
[mood | hopeful]
[music |Goldfrapp - Lovely 2 C U]

Today I did my super shop for Reading, I say for Reading, I got a jumper that I could possibly wear there and a bag from H&M that I could possibly take my stuff in, but it will leave Simon with a lot more to carry.

My major purchase was from a sunglass stall in the middle of the Mall that was closing down. I got.....white framed sunglasses! They were £10 and I've been wearing them all day. My mum was shocked, and John thought they were daft, but David and Simon said they were good and Jo actually complimented them!

I finally worked out today, as I went to see her disgrutled self in Superdrug that Chloe's interent had never crashed, she'd blocked me and made up a cover story! God I'm naive. That group is completely wack anyway, I'll hang with them a bit at Reading but then I'm pretty much leaving them. Except for Aimee since she's a darling.

I've Gotta Go Get a Bikini Wax, Make Me A Woman! [Aug. 19th, 2005|12:53 am]
[mood | worried]
[music |M.I.A - 10 Dollar]

It's laaaaate again. Today I get my AS Level results! The rentals had a psycho-fit when James got moderately OK results, so I'm thinking of bringing my suitcase to school so I can run away from home if needs be.

Today I got pestered again to do the ironing. Angelica made this odd excuse concerning hangers, maybe she just likes doing ALL the ironing? So, once again, no ironing. Plus, wrinkled clothes are the shizzle!

Speaking of 'shizzle', Britney and Kevin: Chaotic premiered today on E4! Oh..... she's not all there is she?

Got some more stuff on ONTD. Peace Out!

PS: "You think these are my boobs? But they're not...they're my.....KNEES!!!!! Hahahahaha! My Knees! Hah!"

It's One AM, I'm Feeling Rambunctious! [Aug. 18th, 2005|01:20 am]
[mood | restless]
[music |Tatu - All About Us]

It's ever so late, you ever get that feeling that if you go to sleep something exciting may happen that then someone who was awake would tell you how much you missed it? That's the feeling I have but nothing exciting is going to happen.

I watched 'Bright Young Things' tonight, a scream of a movie! I was skeptical, but then two minutes in I realised it was so up my alley I had no idea how I hadn't leapt at the chance to watch it before!

The new Tatu video promoed, it was intresting to say the least! And I got a post on ONTD all about it, I was ever so happy!

I'm going to see if I can arrange some sort of hosting system now, Pip Pip!

Get it done before Desperate Housewives... [Apr. 6th, 2005|10:36 pm]
[mood | naughty]
[music |Steppenwolf- Born To Be Wild]

Eh, I'm bored. This don't get updated much anymore does it? Shame since it's very popular...

I couldn't find a reliable singles release for this week, so I'm gonna do a people review, of all the crazy people I've met in the past week. Will it lose me friends? Eh, who cares, let's just do it:

Will Gardener
Apparently came to my party. I upset him since Rory told him the comments about horizontal stripes, which since he has little inhibitions, i'm suprised he's taken to heart. Crazily good impressions, shame he doesn't come to Glyn. I also like the way he isn't mean to people in front of their faces.

Mel Michaels
This girl is hysterical. I spent a good 5 minutes chuckling before she even spoke to me on MSN. The things she does are just intrinsicly funny! I love her in a kind of, Baggott type way, and she deserves all the niceties so the others can keep her in the group. Plus she works on the flower stall, :o

Twin Girlfriend Jemma/Gemma
I've lost track on which twin this was, but Gemma/Jemma seems a noice gal, who I may have offended slightly. I was glad to see that on Tuesday, the talking seemed friendly enough, which is good because she makes a good twin girlfriend. I also like the specs.

Sophie 'The Duke' Werger (?)
Like Charlotte before her, Soph's the sorta more Rory inclined friend. She's very hospitable, and helpful, and has a nice house. She also will teach you new incarcerations of old board games, FUN! She takes Hide'n'Seek a bit serious though, I'm sure I inhaled absestos in that roof...

Rozzy or 'Binty' (?)
2 nicknames, overload! I do enjoy the way everyone nowadays has a nickname, I wonder what mine should be? How about 'La Stud'? Anyway, she works in the Body Shop, and I think I said something to her about exfoliating? Geez, why did I say that? Rory said she was 'a petite blonde' and I suppose she is...

Chloe Oar-Letter
Apart from not being able to pronounce her own surname (sigh), Chloe seemed kinda stand-offish, although I've heard very good things. Elliot (that's right, where you've heard that name before) although never one of my friends was someone I thought would be good to hang with, maybe his sis will be the same? Very Promising. I didn't quite get her t-shirt though...

Vicki
Vicki, owner of freakishly long-hair and a weird little brown jacket. She had Jack Cork good looks, in fact she reminds me of some girl I kissed on a ferris wheel in year 6... She was nice, but I doubt she could replace Alice (?) and jess.

Sophie 'Skis'
The best, I must say considering she gave me a lift home. I don't see why Rory broke it off, this girl seemingly has it all, killer personality/looks/quirks. I want to know what her flaws are, she must have some... So, great.

Skis' Brother
My quick test on apostrophes today hasn't gone to waste. Hm, I suppose he was a simialir age to me, although he looked older. I liked his style, I bet if he has a group, it's cooler than this one.

Soph's Friends
All seemingly cool, I bet they all have their own little tales, but all i know is that they have a dislike for Kate Bush.

These were all who I talked to...

I hate you all (April Fools) [Apr. 1st, 2005|03:33 pm]
[mood | sleepy]
[music |The Score- Dancefloor]

I'm doing this at rory's friends Sophies house! She's a cool girl, although she likes duke of edinburgugh slightly too much. Anyway, today has been very eventful!

I stayed over the night, even though I was gonna go home on the train with will and mel ( <3 Mel!) but i was forced to come to her house, which didnt turn out to bad until about 2 o clock this afternoon.

Anyway, they've decided they're to have this thing, and it's all stacked against in my favor! They're disinviting alice and jess, and forcing me to go even so! I mean, neil, and paddy will be there, quelle horreur! Specially neil.

Their gig last night was pretty good, although the other bands were awful the score, for all their awfulness, were very good. I tried to compliment the twins, but i was caught in their animal magnetism. I also completley plotzed over jemma and possibly zoe, silly me!

Anyway, this keyboard is sorta filthy, so im gonna stop typing....

I Once Stayed Up All Night, As I'd Used a Verb in the Wrong Context... [Mar. 30th, 2005|07:16 pm]
[mood | thoughtful]
[music |Jem- Maybe I'm Amazed]

Sorry theres been hardly any updates, but I've been out all week. Great little social life thing I've got going I suppose...

\\\ROSS'S WEEKLY WEDNESDAY SINGLE REVIEWS///

Arcade Fire - "Laika"
I'm listening to this about now-ish, and it's great! These french-canadians know how to be both conceptual, but also not loose a groovy edge on their songs, which is always a problem. I'm guessing this is named after Laika, the first dog in space?

Avril Lavigne - "He Wasn't"
How many times have I reviewd this? Talk about getting held back, I think even Ms. lavinge is confused, as i've seen tv performances for the past 3 weeks. I always get the impression that our rebel grrrl (oh, Bikini Kill will be turning in their graves)is kinda slow. It comes across in interviews ("Like, the fans Fearne, they like... wait like.. outside for me?") and unfortunatley in this bemusing song.

Busface feat. Mademoiselle EB - "Circles"
Peek-a-boo Sophie Ellis-Bextor, we see you! You can't hide behind your facy france-a-fied name and strange video where a guy smashes glass beakers! The Bextor is actually quite a smart little songstress, and I'd rather hear her with her own new material than this so-so dance effort.

Do Me Bad Things - "What's Hideous?"
This is what music should be, you can just see the fun dripping off them during preformances (and I'm not just talking about the overweight blonde member) and they don't care for the royalties much, I bet if you just asked to join the band they'd let you. A little disjointed at times (they're trying to cram too many styles into one song) and the riff has the faint air of stolen goods, but we love them all the same!

Estelle - "Go Gone"
Oh Estelle, you try to have your nice little tough london act about you, but really your just an old-fashioned mistress with an air for good pop! I hope the album is as fun as her three current offerings.

Kylie Minogue - "Giving You Up"
I'm running out of time, so lets have one sentence reviews:
Kylie has been running out of good songs since the first few releases of Body Language, and this song is no different as it is as forgettable as say, Dannii Minogue...

Lemar - "Time To Grow"
Bland urban (?) musak from the fame academy third-placer who should have faded into the woodwork a long time ago.

Mariah Carey - "It's Like That"
I wish I could do musical reviews, as then this one would just be the same little series of notes repeated over, and over, and over, and over, and over.....

Rachel Stevens - "Negotiate With Love"
She can't actually sing, but the production team behind this little sparkler should be given a medal.

Studio B. - "I See Girls"
You see a lot of bootay and boobay in the video (ay).

Tim McGraw - "Live Like You Were Dying / Just Be Your Tear"
Country, I feel like i'm living in 1980's middle america.

ROUNDUP-

Buy It!
Arcade Fire- Laika (To help french Canadians, who aren't Celine Dion)
Do Me Bad Things- What's Hideous (BREAKDOWN!)
Rachel Stevens- Negotiate With Love (2-3-Go.... oh I forgot 1...)

Listen to It on the Radio
Avril Lavinge- He Wasn't (Like, we went into, the tower of London and, like, there was a king?)
That Sophie Ellis Bextor thing- Circles (Because we hate glasses, right?)
Estelle- Go Gone (Huh-Uh!)
Studio B- I See Girls (boo-bies)

Theres suffering in the world, and you buy THIS?
Kylie Minogue- Giving You Up (I'm huge in the video, ho-ho!)
Lemar- Time To Grow (Is Lemar supposed to be a sex-symbol? I'm confused)
Mariah Carey- It's Like That (And over, and over, and over.....)
Tim McGraw- Live Like You Were Dying (Get back on the ranch!)

I'm Not Allergic to Aquafresh [Mar. 24th, 2005|03:31 pm]
[mood | sleepy]
[music |Girls Aloud- Graffiti My Soul]

This week’s edition is being done in school, I’m being efficient since then I can watch ‘The Apprentice’ tonight!

\\\ROSS’S WEEKLY WEDNESDAY SINGLE REVIEWS///

50 Cent- Candy Shop
Hahaha, do you think old Fiddy realises how ridiculous this is? His album cover is homoerotic, so perhaps he thought releasing a song with so many unsubtle sexual messages would counter this? However, this song is so overbearing, it’s ridiculous, and even the backing track can’t save it. A-Void.

Alsou- Always On My Mind
Hm, this song is kinda forgettable, but it’s undoubtedly quite good. I enjoy the randomness of her, I mean, who is she, how can she afford the video for this? David says she’s in a movie or something. This girl just appeared somewhere. She sexy though, so never mind.

Bright Eyes- First Day of My Life
Woo, Connor Oberest! Bright Eyes are quite delightful, however, there are better and more upbeat songs on his album, which has received rave reviews. Gracie likes him, so he must be big in Tennessee.

Damien Rice- Volcano
Damien Rice creeps me out. I get the impression he’s the winy, but good looking sort who you go out with, he becomes overbearing giving you gifts on first dates, you split up soon after and he hounds you with calls and poems, before he ends up standing on the edge of a bridge or something. FACT- This creepy Irish guy’s going out with Hollywood Yo-Yo actress, Renee Zellwegger.

Dizzee Rascal- Off 2 Work
Oh Dizzee. I’ve enjoyed almost all of his releases so far, and have been admiring of him as an artiste, even though he’s kinda chav. But this song is so disjointed it makes ‘I’m Lovin’ It’ look pretty saleable. I’m sure you have better choices of songs than this to release Dylan.

The Faders- No Sleep Tonight
Hm, a very nice lil’ track if I say so myself. Although they are tres manufactured and slightly trite, I’ve enjoyed their interviews in the past. I also enjoy the bassist, who’s bizarrely named ‘Toy’. This is like, Girls Aloud vs. Jet or something. I also love the drums in it, and you can’t often say that.

Kasabian- Club Foot
Yeah yeah, fantastique song and all that, I love Kasabian’s sound and their album is quite tasty, but this is a re-release. The original release reached #19 in the charts, so it’s not like it had faded into obscurity. They get a ‘must not be so silly’ in my teacher’s books.

Mario- Let Me Love You
Argh, this song is like a lazy version of the terrible Usher. When my mum first saw this video, she thought it was a joke by some tv-show, but this guy takes it so seriously. Asked in a recent interview as to if he had a girlfriend, he replied ‘My Only girl is music’. And I don’t think he was talking about one of L.A.M.B.

Natalie Imbruglia- Shiver
Aw, she just can’t catch a break. Every song she releases would probably be a hit for a lesser singer (that means you Sara Jorge), but even if she released another ‘Angels’ it’d never match up to ‘Torn’. Bless her cotton socks.

Roots Manuva- Too Cold
Hm, I don’t get the mass-hype around Roots Manuva. I guess he’s being original, but this just isn’t for me. However, if you have a passing interest in reggae, give this track a listen.

Sara Jorge- Shock To The System
This girl is completely wack. The video is non-sensical (she gets off on dismemberment?) and her choice in promotion is just idiotic (Hey Nickelodeon Morning shows, it’s me Sara Jorge!). But this song is so naff and 90’s, it could be seen as a guilty pleasure.

The Subways- Oh Yeah
Yay, this band is the bees-knees! I enjoy their roughness, and the guitars and stuff, but they loose marks somewhat. The female bassist (although she has sexy legs, but a bad face) has he most god-awful voice ever. Even the topless drummer could have done a better job. But, we still love it.

Will Smith- Switch
Stick to the acting wide-boy. Although he has the appearance of the ‘sweetest man in rap’ he’s suddenly started all these rapper fights? How lame, he’s so lame. However, the backing beat is so strong, it’s the sad fact this could once have been a good song.

Roundup….

Reading, Yeah! [Mar. 21st, 2005|07:49 pm]
[mood | excited]
[music |The Stooges- I Wanna Be Your Dog]

Today the Reading line-up got released! well, at least a small-part did, I mean like 20 bands, the main bands. That means none of the bands that'd probably play in the day, which was the time I actually enjoyed the most last year. Anyway, here's my line-up review!

FRIDAY

Headliners- Pixies

Woo! Quite a new addition to my listening pleasure, and already one of my fav bands to be honest! Can't wait to sing 'Debaser' along with a cool crowd, only cool people like Pixies y'know?

Track I want to see Live- 'Levitate Me' or 'Where Is My Mind?'

The Killers
Used to be the indie darlings, now the pops perception of the indie darlings and the hate target of indie fans. They'd better start with a stronger song otherwise they may face hassle. One I'd most probably miss.

Track I want to see Live- 'Jenny Was a Friend Of Mine'

Queens Of The Stone Age
I do enjoy Queens, they have a neat little innovative sound thats pretty nice. They're quirky, yet moshy at the same time. But their balding ginger bassist is gone! Aw, that'd make it less fun :( .

Track I Want to see live- 'No One Knows'

The Coral
How, last year indie this seems. I know of the Coral, but little songs. I dunno what they'll be like, they're from Liverpool and i quite like liverpudlians. I may watch these.

Track i want to see Live- Rory told me to say 'Dreaming of You'

Elbow
I dont know anything about this band. I hear they are tres indie though....

Kasabian
This is more like it! Kasabian are one of my favorite current bands, and I've seen videos of them live, so they should be superb. Radio One Tent though, it'll be crowded and they clash with Pixies. Dilemma-Emma!

Track I want to See Live- 'Reason Is Treason'

BRMC
These also seem like a remnant from years gone past, much like The Coral. I think I remember a quite bitching song by them, but I'd hate to pass comment If i can't be totally sure....

SATURDAY

Headliners- Foo Fighters
Eh. Whats with having past it bands preforming? I suppose it's better than the Darkness last year. Although not my personal faves, they are very respectable and have a good catalouge, so definitley deserve a place as headliners.

Track I want to see Live- 'All my Life'

The Kings Of Leon
More worthy than I first invisoned. The Kings, like the Queens on the Friday are very original, and all their songs have coolness with them. Two albums, but they've had almost, I dunno, 7 sing-along hits? Should be fun with the brothers.

Track i want to see live- 'Four Kicks'

The Charlatans and Jimmy Eat World
I don't have energy to write of bands I don't really know....

Babyshambles
Wow, way to play up to the media reading! Although Babyshambles are sorta hyped more than we have judged yet, Kilimangiro was undoubtedly a good song, and I may go see these just to see if anything untoward happens.

Song I want to see Live- 'Any Libertines Covers

SUNDAY

Iron Maiden, Marylin Manson, Incubus
Trollop I will avoid.

Iggy Pop & The Stooges
Aw it's Iggy......with THE STOOGES?! HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Song I want to see live- 'Search and destroy'

NOFX
I hear very good things. I'm gonna go download some stuff and check them out.

Bloc Party
The people I'm going with will defo want to go see thse, so I'm off with them. i havent heard and liked much excpet for....

Song I want to see live- 'Helicopter!'

The Futureheads
Britpop is back, slighlty!

Song I want to see live- i hear they have more than one kate Bush cover?

So, yeah, there we go reading fans! I'll inform us of any new additions in the coming weeks.

Knowing You is Just One Long Let-down.... [Mar. 20th, 2005|08:03 pm]
[mood | good]
[music |The Yeah Yeah Yeahs- Pin]

I really should update more often y'know? I think the thing is, my life has started to be slightly more intresting, so i feel I should only comment on my big social gatherings? I wonder if my audience will enjoy the banalitites of say, Tuesday at school? Perhaps.

yesterday, I was woken at 9.30 by a suprisingly chirpy Alice. We hadn't spoken on the hpone for months, yet I always recognise her voice. She told me I just HAD to go out with her and rory that night, and could they use my place? I agreed, since I adore Alice and thought it would be a darling idea. I felt in necessary to ask david as well, as otherwise he'd complain, because we are friends and all.

Anyway, we went to meet her in Kingston, where everyone was very prompt. We ahd a laugh and I met a friend of Alice and David with a very sexy voice, and Jess's brother who looks so much like Jess it's scary. We then fawned falsely over some college students art and engaged in a coincidental experience where both me and Alice elastic-banded togtehr Jerry Springer the Opera and The Sound of Music.

Rory then cancelled, naughty Rory, so we went round his house only to find out he'd gone to the Cambells instead. If the twins read this, 'Hello! Please start conversations with me in school as I feel its hard to talk to you most of the time!'. So, after an hour long walk, we got to my house where we assisted my parentals into loading a v. fancy coach, watched a bit of Clueless and made some alright Cheese on Toast, although I actually felt I'd have made a nicer one than David, as he put the bread in the Toaster first, which i do't think you're supposed to do.

Today was Johns birthday, but I havent really spoken to him as he didnt wake up till 3.30. I bored Rory with trying to explain the plot of the Virgin Suicides and spoke to david about his new blog, which is still linked by the link atop my page.

I still haven't done Jacksons Essay.

Give Me Money, That's What I Want [Mar. 15th, 2005|08:24 pm]
[mood | blah]
[music |Flying Lizards- Money, Thats What I Want]

Okay, seeing as I'm getting an Ipod tomozza, I'll do the single revies now so I'm not too busy....

\\\ROSS' WEEKLY WEDNESDAY SINGLES REVIEWS (BUT A BIT EARLY THIS WEEK)///

Basement Jaxx - "Oh My Gosh"
Yay, the Jaxx are back! They have a Greatest Hits, I could be consideing buying this, although I must say, this new offering grates a bit. I'm not saying its bad, just the childish vocals annoy me. And the video, old people just dont turn me on.

Beck - "E-Pro"
I'm kinda ignorant to Beck's past, but I know hes done a lot of cool stuff. This songs very nice indeed, and the video is also quite tasty. Maybe they have a video disc thingy? FACT- Beck's debut album unlocks the ultimate Monster in the PS1's 'Monster Rancher'.

Beverley Knight - "Keep This Fire Burning"
This is one for David to like. It's just not for me though. Beverly knights kinda, the poor man's something or another. She just isn't in the top-league, shes Motherwell! I don't quite care for this song.

Elvis Presley - "She's Not You"
I've never heard of this Elvis song? I'd say not buy, just so you don't annoy the hordes of people who hate these re-releases.

G4 - "Bohemian Rhapsody / Everybody Hurts"
Aaaah! These guys deserve to be lined up and shot by a firing line consisiting of disgusted Queen and REM fans! They try to push that ugly blonde thing to the front, and his voice is just atrocious. In fact, just go away!

Glitterati - "You Got Nothing On Me"
This could be a song consisting of the 'You've got nothing on me...' line from the end of labyrinth. It probably isn't, but I hear this band are quite respected.

Green Day - "Holiday"
People don't get my hate for Greenday. I just think they are just above Blink 182 and My Chemical Romance in the whiny punk rock stakes. Stop writing about 'disenchanted youth' and get a proper job and raise your children you wazzocks!

Gwen Stefani - "Rich Girl"
Our favorite Japanamaniac comes back with a song that basically goes against all the repectable aspects of Fiddler On The Roof. It's quite nice, but this No Doubt singer has really shamed herself, the album also brings little old Gwen to shame....

Jem - "They"
Yay! This song is so groovy, it's so etheral. It just makes me wanna go and put on a vintage dress, no shoes, and go spinning around in an english country garden at twilight.

John Legend - "Used To Love U"
Nice old-fashioned RnB that i hevent heard that much of.

Joss Stone - "Spoiled"
Urgh, just top yourself you annoying little Devon 'urban' music sensation. This video would so much better if the car crash didnt rewind in the end.

Lady Sovereign - "Random"
I thought this track was out last week? Maybe she thought the country wasn't ready for 'the soverign'.

Queens Of The Stone Age - "Little Sister"
Nice throbbing track from a consistently good band. May be too simple, however. Josh Holme has really put on weight, he's the Miles Verlander of the indie circuit. I'd wait for the supposedly good album.

Rilo Kiley - "Portions For Foxes"
Lovely lyrics and overall sound from this charming little band. It really is sweet and almost playful, from the title to the lilting voice. From the tracks I've heard however, the album doesn't follow-suit...

Shapeshifters - "Back To Basics"
Back to Basics didn't mean take it all the way back to choosing a standard track and placing some weak vocals on it guys. obviously thought they could recreate Lola's Theme by employing the same vocalist, but this lame listless track doesn't sell to anyone.

Terri Walker - "Whoopsie Daisy"
Haha, britians answer to beyonce eh? A compliment, shes a lot better than rebecca hayes? This songs actually quite sweet in it's appeal, silly vocals and the such. However, the high-expectations just make her more of a Happy Shopper than a Harrods.

Tony Christie - "Amarillo"
Charity single thats better than last years one *shudder* but actually worse than McFly (wow). Buy it for ya nan or your parents, they'd love it.

Come and Get Me, I'm Legal.... [Mar. 13th, 2005|08:04 pm]
[mood | bouncy]
[music |Sonic Youth- Dirty Boots]

Yesterday was my birthday party. You all did a great job of hiding the returant/limo from me guys, good job!

It was hella fun, riding in a limo with a bottle of champagne, heads out of the window yelling at passers-by and stuff. A real snapshot moment (although, i don't theink there will be any snapshots...).

We then went to a cowboy resturant (it's on boxhill). Nachos, Sambuka and Cowboy hats, what more can you want? It was so many peoples birthdays too, and we were mental on our table, clearing out the whole section rather quickly.

Jen and Aimee, sambukas are so your friends! I remember when I was laying on Ashleys lap and Aimee on Jens, and thinking how nice (and sexual) it was. Aw, nice birthday, very nice actually!

Also David was sick (diddums) and Simon nearly smashed up the limo falling over (and out).

We got to watch the infamous Labyrinth as well, hell yeah labyrinth!

I would bitch, but I'm not gonna spoil my birthday thingy. But why am I always the one who always has to apoligise.

364 days till Ross' Birthday!

So Bad, To Have, A Bad Bad Uncle [Mar. 9th, 2005|08:59 pm]

Sorry for not updating for a few days, LJ's been pissed at me :( .

\\\Ross' Weekly Wednesday Singles Reviews!///

The Donnas - I Don’t Want To Know
I don't know what Rory's problem with this is, but as you know if you read my 'currently listening to' ever, you'll know I'm a sucker for girl rock. This is very nice, it may not be revlutionary, but it's nice to see the Donna's back on form.

Howard Brown - You’re The First, The Last, My Everything
You know, the guy from the Halifax ads. People slate him, but the guys got amazing talent, he's probaby the James brown,Barry White etc. for our generation. Drop dead gorgeous with a face like that, and a great voice? Some guys get all the luck! /sarcasm

Lady Sovereign - Random
Ah, the first lady of chav. This is truly awful, but, it's not bland, you can't give her that. So, yeah slate her, call her whatever you want but at least she isn't one to be swept under the carpet. But, someone call a wadrobe manager please!

McFly - All About You/You’ve Got A Friend
This is gonna get to #1, no shadow of a doubt. Although I get annoyed at the McFly hype, they seem to know their place, and hey they write their own stuff and everything. All in all, not as bad as busted, and hey, its for Comic Relief!

Mitchell Brothers Ft Mike Skinner - Routine Check
A song about being searched by police. As Simon from Popworld put it: 'Routine Check, or is this really a routine check, or are you just doing it because, y'know, I'm black. Well of course we are, it's 2005 for christs sake!'.

My Chemical Romance - I’m Not Okay (I Promise)
Probably my most hated song of the week. They think they're clever, they think their image is clever, they think thier videos clever and they think their song is clever. But none of them are, they are carbon-copying Blink 182, who were awful in every repect and doing a bad job of it.

New Order - Krafty
Right, this songs good, if another band did it it'd be thumbs up. But this is New order for christs sake, Blue Monday and all that. Must try a bit harder, and the video disturbs me greatly.

Phantom Planet - California
Bad TV cash in. I'm too tired to make up anyhting for this annoying band. The vids directed by Lost in translation's Sofia coppola...

Sunset Strippers - Falling Stars
Get your washing-baskets out, its disco-camp time! This is the superior of the two songs of this sample released, but the whole excercise seems to be futile. It's really to camp to confidently dance to.

Tyler James - Foolish
Props for the jazz Man! Although not my favorite, it's the most-accomplished and fresh thing out this week. I personally wouldn't get it, but I would urge you to!

Buy It!
